Alice had a litter of five puppies on
9th June 2005
- and these photos were very kindly taken on 24th June by
Jan and Kerstin Alkenbrecher.
Sadly, Alice died suddenly in November 2006, following a minor operation
which left Gulliver as the sole labrador in command at Yew Tree,
but he was joined by new Puppy "Bee" in March 2007
and Gulliver is now beginning to look back fondly on his brief time in sole
charge of the cottage!
Alice really was a rather special lab. Strange, but special. She
never did retrieve anything, but seemed very content to watch other slightly
less bright dogs do the hard work...but there weren't many deer in the Cotswolds
which hadn't been chased over many a wall by her. |
